I feel like Lewis is really vulnerable. Kirsy, Daltos, and Duncan all attacking him would definitely bring him down. He can't even preemptively attack because that would still leave him open on other fronts. If someone realizes this, Lewis should have no chance at winning

I know it’s just a game but Duncan and Daltos are hella annoying on this series. Really toxic they’re picking on Lewis just because he’s doing better in the game.

Musketmen come before lancers because lances were actually still relevant in warfare for a surprisingly long time after gunpowder. They saw a lot of use by Britain in WW1. They technically still exist in regiments but their purpose is obviously ceremonial now.

Another day, another civ! We continue to see military build ups, Lewis now having to keep an eye on three borders but so far no shots are fired. The Egyptians host the world fair, and the Moroccons have kicked off the industrial revolution… kinda! And Daltos busts out his book of wise quotes to make you sound smart. Every time we reach the world’s fair it's glaringly obvious that Yogs Civ is not competitive civ. It’s rare for most Lekmod lobbies to have the world’s fair take more than one turn to complete and usually that’s only because everyone is at war and too busy making units to spare production for it. It’s also rare for it to get passed in the world congress to begin with unless the player that’s top in every category like Lewis also happens to have a large number of city states under their control. It’s better to deny someone who is probably winning from getting double culture for 10 turns than it is to get a free social policy. And if it does pass, unless you have a good chance of winning you usually put in just enough production to get the free second place policy. I could even go further into overflow but honestly I’ve already talked about world’s fair too much! How are the players doing: Kirsty - Still sitting atop the tech score, Kirsty has decided to leave her safe northern enclave to start interacting with the rest of the world. Forts and soldiers on the border with Lewis is a sensible idea even if it would never come close to stopping any real effort to attack her. And then she decided to cause maximum chaos by sending a prophet into Duncan and Lewis’s lands to convert cities. Taking advantage of neither side wanting to start a war with her as it would break their focus on each other. I agree with Kirsty that at this point settling a fourth city will do her more harm than good but she is likely going to start falling behind in tech very quickly as she will not produce as many great scientists as other players. Rythian - At this point I think Rythian has mentally checked out of the game and is just kinda here. He admits himself that he isn’t really focusing very well and he has fallen behind in almost everything. There’s an awful lot of Frankish blue in the worst column of the demographics. If he had been interested in catching up, and having gone exploration, he should have been pumping out conquistadors and gobbling up all the open islands to the south of him. It’s free real estate, take it! But we see on his screen he hasn’t explored them, or even as far as I can tell, built a boat of any type. He’d be easy pickings for Lewis if Lewlew ever chose to rule the seas. Here’s a bit of advice for all you civ players out there: Excess happiness is not a good thing. In Civ it signifies wasted potential. You really want to be sitting at around 0-10 happiness. Only raising it just enough to keep your cities constantly growing. In a perfect game you hoover at 0-4 happiness the entire game building happiness buildings or getting luxuries just when you get at 0. Duncan - You do not know how lucky you are that you got THREE turns to contribute to the world’s fair and still not get a social policy. Duncan’s only hope of staying relevant in this game is using his faith to buy soldiers but instead it keeps spawning dali llamas that he still doesn’t use to generate golden ages. Once again Duncan builds the leaning tower, a wonder that mind you, is good enough that someone will invade you for it in a competitive game, and doesn’t produce any great people. In fact he has yet to build his writer’s and artists’s guilds, two of the most important buildings in the game to provide you with a steady supply of golden ages and free social policies. Lewis - Lewis rules the waves… by default with little to no competition and no fanfare. He has built a small navy and then realizes there’s nowhere to send it as nobody but him and Rythian have bothered to settle the sea. And let’s be honest, attacking Rythian at this point gives Lewis nothing and just makes him look mean. Terracotta is a big get during this military buildup but his units are a full era behind Duncan’s and Daltos’s. I think if the two worked together they could take him but the fear of the big bad Lewis has locked his enemies into indecision. Daltos - Oh Daltos, He is so close yet so far from being great at this game. Daltos recognized, understood, and even said aloud to everyone how important it is to get factories in every city, he was the first to unlock factories in the game, and then he did not do a single thing to get coal so that he could… build factories in every city. Daltos also had the easiest path to getting coal, he is allied to the only city state in the game and it turns out Ormus has coal in their borders. Just the AI built a trading post on it instead of a mine. He could give them 200 gold to improve it and have had coal on the same turn as industrialization. If he didn’t have that he could have also had a worker jump straight to work on building a mine on his coal source which would have taken three turns, but he didn’t do that either. And 5 turns later, still no improved coal. 11 turns after industrialization he finally has coal improved and is building factories.... very slowly :( Worst of all he had the gold to buy factories in every city, which would be much better in the long term than having Ormus as his (probably temporary) ally.

Why does Lewis have by far the biggest population and amount of cities, and yet have insane excess happiness? He has Notre Dame, but that only gets you so far.
